Punchestown betting tips for November 17 from Horsebetting.com say the unbeaten Commander Of Fleet rates the NAP of this eight-race card on hurdles bow. Cadmium, meanwhile, is a course and distance winner that is the next best on Saturday in the feature Grade 2 Craddockstown Novice Chase over 2m. Morga is one to consider each-way in the Listed 2m 2f Grabel Mares Hurdle. Exciting Commander Of Fleet can make winning hurdles bow at Punchestown

Gigginstown House Stud unleash the unbeaten point and bumper winner Commander Of Fleet over hurdles in an extended 2m 4f maiden for four-year-olds at Punchestown on Saturday (13:45), so is readily taken to make a winning bow in this sphere. Trained by Gordon Elliott, the son of Fame And Glory finished alone in his sole start in an Irish point-to-point back in March.

Commander Of Fleet was soon racing under rules when turned out in the valuable and ultra-competitive Goffs Land Rover Bumper here at the Punchestown Festival. After tracking the leader in the hands of Barry O’Neill in second, he strongly pressed the front-runner from halfway until taking it up just after the three marker.

He then quickened clear and stayed on strongly in impressive fashion to slam stable companion Column Of Fire, to whom Commander Of Fleet was conceding 5lb, by 8 1/2 lengths. The winner has come out and bolted up by 13 lengths in a Navan bumper last weekend to give the form a solid look.

Despite some unraced sorts opposing him here, most notably the JP McManus owner Castle Olivier, there is simply nothing not to like about Commander Of Fleet for this, especially as Davy Russell now takes the ride. This exciting prospect thus rates our NAP of this meeting and standout bet of these Punchestown betting tips for November 17.

Cadmium the Craddockstown choice

The feature race, the 2m Grade 2 Craddockstown Novice Chase, is earlier on the card (13:10). Course and distance winner Cadmium is one of two engaged for Irish champion trainer Willie Mullins and fancied despite having to give stablemate Voix Du Reve 3lb.

This six-year-old son of Early March is four from eight over fences and has landed both his career starts at this venue. Cadmium had just one start over hurdles – a winning one at that – after joining Mullins from French and, following a year off, was then sent chasing.

After finishing third on debut over the larger obstacles, he landed a beginners’ event at Fairyhouse when dropped back from 2m 4f. Cadmium led going best before the last and was pushed clear after it, staying on strongly up the run-in to score by 5 1/2 lengths.

There were then excuses for him when badly hampered at a crucial stage in a Listed affair next time up at Thurles. It left Cadmium disputing third and unable to find any extra, yet he then bounced back by winning a Grade B handicap over course and distance at the Festival giving 8lb and an eight-length beating to Coeur Joyeux.

A summer campaign was then plotted by connections. Cadmium won again in a novice chase at Roscommon, beating the ill-fated Le Martalin by 2 3/4 lengths. The runner-up came out and won next time out, though the winner then found top weight in a Grade 3 at the Galway Festival too much of a burden.

Cadmium was denied fourth in the final strides, then chased Ornua home in a similar grade affair at Roscommon. Mullins persisted at that level with him, however, and he resumed winning ways last time out when reversing that form when stepping up in trip by a couple of furlongs.

The third home Cubomania has since landed a novice chase at Cheltenham to boost the form, and these exploits has earned Cadmium a rating of 147 over fences. While his Grade 3 victory last time out means he has to give 3lb to his five rivals, a repeat of that ought to be enough to see him go in again.

Morga an each-way punt for Grabel

In the Listed 2m 2f Grabel Mares Hurdle later on the card (14:20), Morga has placed in all four of her starts this year for trainer Desmond McDonogh, so looks worth backing to make the frame yet again. The market is dominated by Mullins duo Stormy Island Good Thyme Tara, but the former has no form on the good ground, so the eight-year-old is worth chancing instead.

Morga has won or placed in 10 of her 23 hurdles starts and shaped well in three of spins on the Flat over this summer. She chased home Wicklow Brave home over 1m 6f during the Galway Festival and was then third under a welter burden in a Curragh handicap.

Having hit the frame when a two-length third in the Listed 1m 4f Oyster Stakes back at Galway, Morga then ran a huge race when a four-length third in a handicap hurdle at the same venue over 2m. That has earned her an official mark of 131 – putting her 1lb well-in on Elliott’s runner Lackaneen Leader at the weights.

It actually puts Morga third best on adjusted races, so it’d be no surprise if she were to make the frame in-behind Mullins’ pair. At the double figure prices on offer, she is thus the each-way bet in our Punchestown betting tips for November 10 and completes them.
