As sponsors of ITV Racing on terrestrial television, William Hill have used that privileged position to promote their horse racing offers to a wider, national audience besides the betting public in the UK. What extra incentives do they give to regular punters? This article takes a detailed look at two of their racing offers.
If National Hunt horse racing is your thing, then their High 5 promotion is certainly one to be aware of. During the Flat season, meanwhile, the same percentage bonus is on offer via their 2 Clear offer. Let’s take a detailed look at the terms and conditions of these William Hill horse racing promos.
The High 5 offer relates to selected UK and Irish National Hunt races announced on the William Hill website every day or any Jumps race shown on terrestrial TV (ITV or ITV4). If your selection wins one of these races by five lengths or more, then you get a 15 per cent bonus up to £100 on top of your winnings credited as an extra token.
This promotion is open to mobile, online, retail and telebetting customers. The race must have six or more runners in it to qualify for the offer, which applies to win singles (or the win part of an each-way bet) only placed after 17:30 the day before the race up until the off time. Ante post, betting without or place markets, flash odds and cashed in, multiple, pari-mutuel or Tote bets are not eligible.
If you place more than one bet on a winning horse that qualifies for the High 5 offer, then these will be taken cumulatively and the bonus paid as one token up to £100. You must stake real cash only and the bonus relates to profit only. William Hill aim to credit you with your tokens within one hour of the race being settled, but failing that will do so by midday the following day.
Winning distances are based on the official result of the race and amended results don’t count. You are free to use your bonus bet token on any market or selection within four days of it being awarded, but William Hill’s standard free bet terms and conditions apply.
While mobile and online customers cannot bet on the unnamed starting price (SP) favourite or second favourite, there are specific terms for punters betting in a William Hill retail outlet. These include bets taken only at the SP being valid, a minimum stake of 50p. Bonus bets must be claimed within four days of a qualifying race and be placed the same day as you claim from the same betting shop where you had the initial wager.
Many of the terms for High 5 are similar to William Hill’s Flat horse racing equivalent offer, 2 Clear. Again, a list of selected UK and Irish races announced daily or broadcast on terrestrial television are eligible for this promotion. Unlike its Jumps counterpart, however, the winning distance is smaller at two lengths or more.
It’s also a 15 per cent free bet bonus on winnings up to a maximum of £100 and a Flat race must have six or more runners to qualify. Win singles (or the win part of an each-way bet) in real cash only are eligible for 2 Clear, which again means ante post, betting without and place only markets, flash odds and cashed in, multiple, para-mutuel or Tote bets do no qualify.
The 2 Clear promotion is available for telebetting, retail, online and mobile customers too. Any bonus bet winnings you receive should be credited to you within an hour of the race being settled, but again at latest by midday the following day. If you have more than one qualifying bet on a winner, then they are taken cumulatively and the bonus paid as a single token.
While you are again unable to bet on the unnamed SP favourite or second favourite and receive this offer, any win single on a named selection placed after 17:30 the day before the race and the Flat horses coming out of the stalls does count. The official race result is the source used for winning margins and amended results do not qualify for a bonus.
As with the High 5 offer, William Hill’s standard free bet terms and conditions apply to bonus tokens earned via the 2 Clear promotion. You again have four days from being credited with a token to use it and the same separate retail specific terms as above apply to bets placed in a betting office.
