Palmerbet Reviews & Ratings Australia 2024
Is Palmerbet Reliable & Secure?
Palmerbet AU is a household name in Australian sports betting, having been associated with Sydney betting for more than three decades. However, Palmerbet AU online only started in 2013 and, as with any newcomer, what you really want to know is Palmerbet reliable and secure? And that’s just one of the things we cover in our Palmerbet reviews section, where we break down all you need to know, complete with our independent Palmerbet ratings, to give you the complete picture.
We particularly recommend Palmerbet AU for horse racing, where it excels with a great range of betting opportunities. It’s not perfect though, and we’ll cover all the pros and cons here in our Palmerbet reviews – just read on for the full details!
Palmerbet AU: Pros & Cons
- Great for horse racing, local and international – covers all races.
- Huge range of available horse racing betting markets.
- Clean and intuitive design to website and apps.
- Good selection of bonuses, including sign-up and for exiting punters.
- Limited payment options, especially on withdrawals.
- Bookmaker margins above average.
Here at Palmerbet AU, things look pretty good for bonuses. Sure, we’d have liked more offers, but what they have looks very good. The headline bonus offer we found in our Palmerbet reviews is the second matched bet offer, with your second racing bet matched up to $100 in bonus bets. Simple conditions as well, something that always scores well for the Palmerbet ratings, just place a second bet and it’s matched it up to $100 with bonus bets to be used on single racing bets (no multi-bets or exotics allowed here). Like the majority of the bonuses at Palmerbet AU, you’re looking at spending your bonus bets at odds of 1.80 or higher.
Bonuses are only for Australian residents and tend to exclude some or all of those of you from NSW, SA, WA, and VIC (sorry!).
In the past, there’s also been matched to $100 first bet deposit bonuses, a bet $10, get $100 deposit bonus, and no deposit bonus offer – and you may well find these in the future.

Palmerbet AU has a good looking website and mobile app for Android and iOS devices, a clean and modern look, all light blues and whites. It’s very easy on the eye, with a standard three-column look, plenty of bets offered in the main betting window, expandable left-hand side menu, and bet slip on the right.
Getting around the site is simple and intuitive, everything where it should be. But it could do better – compare it with what we found in our bookmakers Bbet review, where the design is just as clean but gets more info in and makes access to upcoming races just that little easier.
Everything you need, including placing a bet, is a matter of just a few clicks away, and your account details are just as easy to get to as well. Palmerbet AU offers a detailed look at funds, bonus account showing cleared and usable funds, betting requirements and the rest. Exactly what scores well in our Palmerbet ratings.
When it comes to scoring well on our Palmerbet reviews and getting great Palmerbet ratings, we want payments to cover a few simple things – we want it to have as many as possible, be as easy as possible, and cost as little as possible.
Unfortunately, Palmerbet falls way short here with how many methods it’s offering for getting your money in and taking it out. It’s particularly poor on withdrawals, where you get one choice and one choice only – bank transfer with a minimum withdrawal of $10 and taking 1-2 business days. Frankly, that’s just not good enough for us. Deposits are somewhat better, with VISA and MasterCard credit card deposits and POLI Internet banking offering instant deposits, while BPAY and Direct Bank Transfer take 1-2 business days. Minimum deposits are $5, except for bank deposits, which vary with your banks.
So, no Skrill, no PayPal, no paysafecard, no Neteller… this Palmerbet reviews section scores badly!
Whether it’s you needing to talk to someone when you want or a great help/FAQ section with the answers to all the questions you have, customer service is vital for a good Palmerbet ratings score. We want a 24/7 service, that is completely free, and offers loads of information.
Contact with Palmerbet AU is by phone, email, or mail. No live chat option is a real minus for us, unlike someone like the bookmakers bluebet, who provide live chat at least during office hours.
Getting in touch by phone is through a 1300 number, charged at local rates in Australia, which is another minus as we prefer, even expect, to see a Freephone number. And customer service is only available to 8pm AEST (with the live phone bet line open until 3am AEST). However, their email response times were impressive, taking less than an hour every time we tested their service.
You also have a ‘help centre’ rather than a FAQ, but it definitely ticks all the important boxes, covering all the main topics you’d want to see and setting out the categories particularly well, making great use of step-by-step pictorial instructions.

When it comes to your horse racing betting and general sports betting, you want to know answers to two questions; is Palmerbet reliable and is Palmerbet secure?
Palmerbet AU is 100% Australian owned and operated by Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd. It’s fully regulated and licenced by Racing NSW and OLGR, financially guaranteed by the NSW Bookmakers Co-operative, and also regulated by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing. All good things to reassure you that they’re safe and secure and definitively score high in our Palmerbet ratings.
But there’s more than just that, as Palmerbet AU has a full Responsible Gambling Code of Practice, subscribes to the Australian Bookmakers Association Code of Practice and South Australian Responsible Gambling Code of Practice. Verification is required on joining and on first withdrawal and webpages have https 2048-bit encryption. So overall, is Palmerbet secure? Yes, absolutely.
Rewards & Loyalty Program
Rewards and loyalty programs can offer you extra bonuses, regular gifts, free bets, and so much more. But all too often, we see rewards and loyalty programs that just take too much and give too little. Our advice is always to look at these things realistically and only go for a rewards program when it fits in with your betting patterns.
However, having said that, it’s a moot point at Palmerbet, as there’s no Rewards and Loyalty program available at all! The most you get here would be fairly frequent promotions and bonuses open to all existing customers, such as their Protest Payout and Fixed Odds + 30% promotions. If you’re after a nicely set up rewards scheme, have a look at our bookmakers PlayUp offers – they offer reward points for every dollar bet, which could prove very lucrative!
Check our Beteasy Review for a different loyalty program.
As we’ve shown you in our Palmerbet reviews, this is a bookmaker you should really have a look at when thinking about where to place your racing bets. They specialise in horse racing and dog racing, with a fabulous range of both local and international races on offer, with a great depth of betting markets. You’ll find finding and placing bets simple and easy, as Palmerbet boasts a clean and simple, intuitive design for both website and mobile apps.
On the minus side, they don’t offer enough payment options, have a more limited customer service offering than we like to see, and their bookmaker margins are slightly above average compared to others.
However, as you see from our Palmerbet reviews, if you’re looking for a well-built, intuitive bookmaker that really goes out of its way to deliver great horse racing betting, you should really take a look at Palmerbet!
