Irish and American juvenile fillies dominated the finish in the opening Queen Mary Stakes on Wednesday with Quick Suzy reeling in favourite Twilight Gleaming. Kemari took the Queen’s Vase, meanwhile, getting the run of the race as the Godolphin gelding couldn’t be caught by St Leger hopeful Wordsworth.

Indie Angel made the most of a high draw on the stands’ side by pulling off a 22/1 surprise among Royal Ascot 2021 results in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes. Lady Bowthorpe confirmed previous form with favourite Queen Power in the middle of the track in-behind. Love dug deep in the feature Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, prevailing over Breeders’ Cup winner Audarya.

The Royal Hunt Cup was won in emphatic fashion by Godolphin’s Real World, the first of Royal Ascot winners for Marco Ghiani. Perfect Power prevailed up the stands’ side rail in the Norfolk Stakes for juveniles that kicked off Ladies Day. Mohaafeth then survived a stewards’ inquiry and stayed unbeaten after victory in the Hampton Court Stakes for three-year-olds.

Rab Havlin steered Loving Dream to Ribblesdale Stakes success, while another senior member of the weighing room in Joe Fanning took the feature Gold Cup aboard Subjectivist with three-time winner Stradivarius only fourth. Perotto gave trainer Marcus Tregoning a first Royal Ascot winner since 2003 with victory in the Britannia Stakes.

Surefire held off the fast-finishing favourite and top-weight Sir Lamorak to take the King George V Stakes in the second of the Ladies Day handicaps. The last of the Royal Ascot 2021 winners on Thursday was Highfield Princess, who provided jockey Jason Hart with a maiden success at the meeting and denying Danyah victory in the Buckingham Palace Handicap.

Royal Ascot 2021 results day four

Sandrine showed a game attitude in the Albany Stakes for juvenile fillies despite a deluge of rain hitting the track before racing on Friday. Alenquer, meanwhile, took the King Edward VII Stakes under Tom Marquand for William Haggas. A stewards’ inquiry cost Dragon Symbol the Commonwealth Cup as American raider Campanelle was promoted from second.

Oisin Murphy bounced back from that disappointment, however, as Alcohol Free turned the 1000 Guineas form around with Irish raider Mother Earth in the Coronation Stakes. Snow Lantern split the two fillies, while Andrew Balding enjoyed a penultimate day double.

There was then first Royal Ascot winners for jockey Ben Coen and Johnny Murtagh as a trainer, courtesy of Create Belief bolting up in the Sandringham Stakes Handicap. Murphy was then in the winners’ enclosure again with Quickthorn justifying favouritism in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes Handicap for Hughie Morrison and Lady Blyth. Clifford Lee enjoyed his first victory at the meeting in the concluding Palace Of Holyroodhouse Handicap aboard Significantly.

A ding-dong tussle between Point Lonsdale and the Queen’s promising juvenile Reach For The Moon saw the last two-year-old race in the Chesham Stakes go back to Ireland with Aidan O’Brien and owner-breeders Coolmore. Another set of powerful connections were also among Royal Ascot winners on the final day of the meeting as Godolphin duo Creative Force and Naval Crown fought out the finish of the Jersey Stakes.

In the Hardwicke Stakes, Wonderful Tonight got her ground and held on from Broome and Hukum. That gave British-based French trainer David Menuisier a first Royal Ascot winner. The feature Diamond Jubilee Stakes went to Sir Michael Stoute’s Dream Of Dreams, who made it third time lucky in the prestigious sprint.

The Wokingham Stakes Heritage Handicap saw Rohaan put up an impressively display as he continued a fine season by beating his elders in a faster time than the Group 1 sprint. Foxes Tales ensured Oisin Murphy was top jockey for the meeting with victory in the Golden Gates Stakes Handicap.
