Read our 2018 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes betting tips preview to find out why.Chaleur odds makes her the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes choiceChaleur is a promising and progressive sort who looks overpriced and worth a punt in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes over 6f at Newmarket of Friday (14:25). The filly hails from the in-form yard of Ralph Beckett and was a big eye-catcher on debut when a second of 19 to Le Pelosa at Kempton.

Although beaten three lengths, she ran far better than that indicates. After being slowly away from an unfavourable wide draw in stall 10, Chaleur quickly found herself at the rear and playing catch-up. She showed distinct signs of greenness but, when switched right inside at the two marker, the penny finally began to drop and she stayed on strongly under tender handling to be nearest at the finish.

While she was no match for the winner, who has since gone on to finish a fine second at Royal Ascot and re-opposes in this, it was a hugely promising start given how the race panned out. Chaleur has since shown the benefit of that experience by going on to land a six-runner novice stakes at Leicester in facile fashion.

She was far more clued-up and made virtually all before pulling readily clear inside the last to win easing down by 3 3/4 lengths. Although she probably didn’t beat much, it was a taking display and a victory which will have done her confidence the world of good.

Chaleur clearly has a big engine and is going the right way. She obviously has work to do to turn the form around with Le Pelosa, but Beckett does extremely well with his fillies and there should not be such a big price differential between the pair. So, at the odds on offer, Chaleur odds have to be our play in this.Main Edition a major playerThe aforementioned Le Pelosa commands plenty of respect, but Main Edition beat her last time out at Royal Ascot and is therefore feared most.

This Mark Johnston trained filly made it three out of three when showing plenty of early dash, before running on strongly and finding plenty when pressed to gamely land the Albany Stakes by a neck.

It was a gutsy display and she has nothing to fear from the re-opposing Angel’s Hideaway and Pretty Polyanna, who finished fourth and fifth respectively. Main Edition also meets Le Pelosa on the same terms, so should also confirm the form with that rival who held every chance but couldn’t get past her.

The daughter of Zoffany is also two from two under jockey James Doyle and has her optimum conditions of fast ground and 6f. That gives Main Edition a rock solid profile and she looks sure to make a bold bid to maintain her unbeaten record.Gossamer Wings a big player for team BallydoyleBallydoyle handler Aidan O’Brien has saddle the winner of the last two runnings of the race, so that makes his sole representative Gossamer Wings command the utmost respect.

The daughter of Scat Daddy came good at the third time of asking when landing an eight-runner maiden over 5f at Naas. She went two lengths clear at the furlong marker and then responded well to pressure when challenged to score by half-a-length.

Gossamer Wings then ran a cracker and posted a career-best effort last time out when a fast finishing short-head second of 22 to Signoro Cabello in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes over the flying 5f at Royal Ascot. She looked an unlucky loser, having encountered traffic problems a furlong from home when coming from well off the pace and would have won in another stride.

Like many from the yard, she seems to be improving with her racing and looks the type that should have plenty more to offer. The step back up to 6f also looks sure to suit given the way in which she finished off her race at the Royal meeting.

Gossamer Wings will be hard to keep out of the frame in this, so that makes her our each-way selection among the Duchess Of Cambridge stakes tips on offer.Your Next Bet
