Sweet Solera Stakes Betting Tips – Dubai Fountain Fancied for Group 3 Glory at Newmarket

More to come from progressive Johnston juvenile

Trainer Mark Johnston has won three of the last five runnings of the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes, so Dubai Fountain looks to hold leading claims of landing the spoils for him in this year’s renewal of the 7f juvenile contest for fillies at Newmarket on Saturday (15:20).

This daughter of Teofilo was sent off odds-on to make a winning debut at Doncaster and never gave her supporters an anxious moment.

Dubai Fountain made all and only had to be pushed out by Franny Norton to readily account for She Do by a length. She won going away and was value for much more than the winning margin.

It was a display which marked her out as one to keep onside. That view was confirmed when Dubai Fountain defied a 7lb penalty in style when romping to a facile 8 1/2 lengths success at Haydock.

She was sent of a well-backed 2/1 favourite to land the hat-trick in the Listed 7f Star Stakes at Sandown.

Dubai Fountain again attempted to make all and, when headed inside the last, stuck to the task well to go down all guns blazing by a length to Fev Rover.

As the winner had previously been beaten just a head when second to Royal Ascot winner Dandalla in a Group 2 at Newmarket, the form looks decent. It suggests that Dubai Fountain is well worth a crack at this level.

With the prospect of even better to come and now partnered by Silvestre De Sousa for the first time, she appeals at the 4/1 on offer with William Hill to resume winning ways here.

Danilova feared more than Fly Miss Helen

The Sweet Solera Stakes betting is headed by Fly Miss Helen, who impressed when making a winning debut at Newbury.

However, what she beat is highly questionable and Richard Hannon’s daughter of Le Havre thus makes no appeal whatsoever at a best-price 7/4 with BetVictor.

At the odds on offer, the Charlie Appleby trained Danilova is much preferred and rates the main danger to Dubai Fountain.

This beautifully bred daughter of Dubawi, who carries the famous all blue colours of Godolphin, shaped with plenty of promise on debut over this course and distance when a tenderly handled 3 1/4 lengths runner-up to stable companion Wedding Dance.

The winner has since finished a fine close up second in a Group 3 at Deauville, whilst the third home Nash Nasha went on to score easily next time up at Lingfield.

That gives the form a decent look. Danilova has since opened her account in good style over course and distance when readily accounting for Senita, a well-regarded John Gosden inmate, by a cosy 1 1/2 lengths.

She is clearly going the right way and her proven form at the venue is a big plus. This does demand much more, but given powerful connections it would be no surprise to see Danilova prove up to the task.

Odds of 5/1 with Unibet to go in again under William Buick, who partnered her to success last time out, command her respect.

Setarhe holds solid each-way Sweet Solera Stakes claims

Given that she finished just a head behind Dubai Fountain in the aforementioned Star Stakes, Setarhe is another key player and looks well worth considering.

The Roger Varian trained daughter of Footstepsinthesand raced far too keenly in the earlier stages that day, so it was to her credit that she finished off strongly to be gaining all the way to the line.

Prior to that, she had won in good style over 6f on debut here when overcoming a swlo start before finishing a fine six-length second of 13 to Dandalla in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Setarhe ran better than the distance she was beat in the latter, as she was last to break and forced to switch on more than one occasion before keeping on well.

She was also sent off a well-backed 11/4 favourite that day, suggesting that she is held in high-regraded by the Varian team.

Setarhe also looks a work in progress and by far the finished article, so appeals as the type to go on improving with her racing.

This stiff 7f should also play to her strengths. Setarhe thus makes plenty of each-way appeal for the Sweet Solera Stakes at the 11/2 on offer with Betfair.
