Betting Tips · -

Horsebetting.com betting tips for the Dick Hern Stakes say the thriving Agrotera is worth a bet to land the spoils in the 1m Listed contest at Haydock on Saturday, 11 August. The Roger Varian trained Narella rates the main danger based on her juvenile form. Dynamic odds appeal each-way, as her handler William Haggas has won the race twice in the last four years. They have won eight of the last 10 runnings, including the last six renewals, and the Ed Walker trained Agrotera is an ultra-progressive sort who comes into the race on the back of two successes. In the last of those at Royal Ascot, she put in an awesome display when landing the 23-runner Sandringham Stakes by 2 3/4 lengths from Ortiz.

After being steadied at the start and being held-up well off the pace under an ultra-confident Jamie Spencer, the daughter of Mastercraftsman made good headway two form home and scythed through the huge field like a knife through butter. After taking up the running entering the final furlong, she then quickened smartly to surge clear and won with tons in hand.

Agrotera made a total mockery of her opening handicap mark of 88 and it was a devastating display which suggested she had a big future. Having been raised 11lb for that demolition job, connections have been left with little option but to go down the pattern route.

However, the manner of that success suggested that Agrotera was undoubtedly a group performer in the making. This also doesn’t look the strongest renewal of the Dick Hern, while Agrotera remains unexposed and open to stacks more improvement after just four career starts.

So, with her optimum conditions and Spencer once again in the saddle, Agrotera has a rock solid profile and is taken to complete the hat-trick before going on to contest group races. She’s thus our main bet among 2018 Dick Hern Stakes betting tips.Narella a fascinating contenderNarella shaped as if needing the run on seasonal reappearance and her first start for trainer Roger Varian when eighth in a Listed contest at Sandown. She is entitled to strip much fitter for that outing – her first for 279 days – and looks a fascinating contender based on her juvenile form.

That came when trained in Germany by Markus Klug. The daughter of Reliable Man won two of her four starts, with the last of those coming in a Group 3 at Baden-Baden where she only had to be pushed out to score by two lengths.

Narella was then pitched in at the highest level for her final start of the campaign when finishing a 7 1/4 lengths last of seven to Wild Illusion at Chantilly. However, she was not totally disgraced and the winner has gone on to finish runner-up in the Epsom Oaks and landed a Group 1 at Goodwood last week.

The runner-up Polydream has also gone on to taste success at that level, so it was clearly a strong renewal. Narella was held in high regard by her former handler, and after just five career starts, she is likely to have more to offer, so she therefore rates the main danger to Agrotera.Dynamic an each-way alternativeNewmarket handler William Haggas has saddled the winner in two of the last four runnings courtesy of Token Of Love (2014) and Sea Of Grace (2017). He had a couple of smart three-year-olds entered in this, but his sole representative is the four-year-old Dynamic.

That makes her well worth a second look and, at the odds on offer, she appeals as the each-way value in the race. The daughter of Teofilo has a good strike rate having won three of her seven starts; however, it is her run on seasonal reappearance at Ascot when fourth of nine to stable companion Urban Fox which makes her of interest in this.

Dynamic held every chance approaching in the final furlong before weakening late on to be beaten 3 3/4 lengths. Given that the winner has gone on to land the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh by 3 1/4 lengths before finding only Wild Illusion two lengths too good when runner-up in a Group 1 at Goodwood, it was a decent effort in defeat.

The runner-up Tribute Act has also since finished second in a Group 2, so that gives the form a solid look. If able to repeat that effort Dynamic should be up to make her presence felt in this, despite the fact that she has to give a 7lb weight-for-age allowance to the likes of Agrotera and Narella.

That is going to be a tough ask but, given connections, it would be folly to underestimate Dynamic’s chances. She is also included in our 2018 Dick Hern Stakes betting tips as the value each-way bet on offer in the market.Your Next Bet
