The red-hot Newmarket handler has won the race four times courtesy of Foss Way (2002), Windsor Knot (2004), Ravens Pass (2007) and the brilliant Kingman (2013). In Too Darn Hot, he has a colt that looked something special when romping to a wide-margin success on debut over 1m at this venue.
After tracking the leader travelling sweetly, the beautifully bred son of Dubawi out of top class mare Dar Re Mi was produced to take up the running two from home by a motionless Frankie Dettori. When he then let out an inch of rein, the response was electric and Too Darn Hot quickened clear to slam Rowland Ward by seven lengths.
The form is very hard to evaluate as the runner-up and third home were also having their first start. However, Fraser Island who finished last of the five runners had previously run well to chase home Beatboxer – another Gosden inmate who was won again since and held an entry in this.
That suggests that it may well turn out to be a decent little contest, and Too Darn Hot could not have been more impressive in getting the job done. It was a hugely exciting performance which suggested he could potentially be something right out of the top drawer.

The form of the race has also worked out incredibly well with the second, third, fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth having all gone on to taste success.
It was obviously a very hot maiden, so Confiding did well to get the job done in the manner that he did. His run in the Vintage suggests that there was more improvement to come; so, having achieved a high level of form after just two outings, he looks a massive player in this and rates the obvious danger to the selection.Consistent Dunkerron another with claimsDunkerron is a consistent sort who has won two of his five starts. The Alan King trained son of Kuroshio finished just over a length in front of Confiding when runner-up last time out in the aforementioned Vintage Stakes, so is another with claims in a fascinating Solario renewal.
Prior to that, he had also been far from disgraced when a staying on three-length fourth of eight to Confiding’s stable companion Advertise in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket. Advertise has since confirmed himself as one of the top juveniles around in landing the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh.
The fifth home Sporting Chance has also since won a Listed contest, while the seventh Legends Of War has also gone on to win again and finish a fine second in a Group 2 at York. That gives the form a rock solid look in relation to this and Dunkerron is officially the highest rated in the line-up.
His experience is also a plus, but he doesn’t possess as much scope as Too Darn Hot or Confiding. However, Dunkerron is a likable type who looks sure to give it his best shot and thus had to feature among potential punts in our 2018 Solario Stakes betting tips.Your Next Bet
