Yorkshire Silver Vase betting tips from Doncaster on Horsebetting.com say Lady Buttons is the one to be on in the feature Listed mares’ chase on Saturday, 29 December. Drinks Interval is feared most now dropping back in trip to an extended 2m 4f. Atlanta Ablaze, meanwhile, is an each-way alternative after a string of solid races this season so far. For more on this big event on Town Moor, read our detailed Yorkshire Silver Vase betting tips preview below.Lady Buttons the Yorkshire Silver Vase fancyLocal trainer Philip Kirby is bang in-form, so the decision for Wetherby specialist Lady Buttons to swerve the Castleford Chase in favour of the Listed 2m 4f Yorkshire Silver Vase at Doncaster on Saturday could be wise (14:05). The eight-year-old is three from four over fences and has won both her starts this season.
Lady Buttons went one better on reappearance than last season to land a Listed hurdles contest against her own sex at her favourite stomping ground. After chasing home La Bague Au Roi, who has made up into a superb novice chaser and recently won a Grade 1, she landed her own bow over the larger obstacles at this level at Bangor.
Although then fourth in consecutive hurdles starts at Leopardstown, Lady Buttons scored over fences again at Newcastle. The daughter of Beneficial was next a fine fourth to Diego Du Charmil in the Grade 1 Maghull Novices’ Chase at the Aintree Grand National meeting after a busy campaign.
Wins in both spheres this season
Those runs last term gave connections a useful dual-purpose mare, and that view was confirmed when she landed the Listed Wetherby Mares’ Hurdle on reappearance. Lady Buttons led going best two out and ran on well to score by 1 3/4 lengths from Mystic Sky. As the runner-up has come out and won since, this form looks decent.
Lady Buttons switched back to fences last time out and plundered a class 2 Newbury handicap off 140 for a comfortable 2 1/4 lengths victory over Shear Rock. Although the third horse home Doitforthevillage was beaten a further 10 lengths, he has since come out and landed a similar race at Chepstow.
As Lady Buttons tops the ratings off 149 in this, and stable and jockey Adam Nichol are both in really good form, she looks a worthy favourite for more black type. She is thus the main selection of our Yorkshire Silver Vase betting tips.Drinks Interval feared mostColin Tizzard and Tom O’Brien grabbed Welsh Grand National glory with Elegant Escape earlier in the week, and team up again with Drinks Interval. Taking the 2lb she gets from Lady Buttons into account, there is nothing to choose between the pair on adjusted ratings, so thus rates the main danger.
This daughter of King’s Theatre is arguably more effective over further, but drops back in trip after taking a crashing fall three out at Market Rasen and then being well-beaten last time out. A Listed prize looks well within Drinks Interval, however, based on her progressive form over fences before coming to grief.
She won three of her first four chase starts and was particularly impressive at Chepstow in October when bolting up by 11 lengths. Drinks Interval was still in front and going fine when coming to grief next time up, but then ran into Magic Of Light at Newbury.
When headed after four out, there was just no going with the ready winner who had Drinks Interval and those in-behind well strung out. As she now gets weight from all but one rival in this, however, that gives her claims of resuming winning ways over an intermediate trip that she won over during the summer.Atlanta Ablaze the obvious alternativeOf those that remain, Atlanta Ablaze has won three of her four starts since a wind op and was hugely impressive when landing a Listed novices chase at Warwick when last in action. She thus appeals as an improving sort and the only each-way alternative with connections of Rene’s Girl not in much form.
This seven-year-old daughter of Kayf Tara is trained by Henry Daly and, after winning at Bangor, followed-up in a Hereford handicap scoring by four lengths. She was then far from disgraced when a 3 1/4 lengths third to Rons Dream in the Listed race where Drinks Interval fell. The winner has since come out and finished a fine staying on fourth in the Welsh Grand National.
Atlanta Ablaze then put in a career best when proving herself better than a handicapper and bolting up in the Lady Godiva at Warwick by 19 lengths. The runner-up Jester Jet was a highly-regarded sort coming into the race, but this very taking display puts the winner in with every chance of following-up here.
The assessor put Atlanta Ablaze up 12lb to 143 for that runaway success, but it still underestimate her. This progressive sort thus completes our Yorkshire Silver Vase betting tips as one to consider back each-way, but bookmakers only pay two places and a quarter of the outright odds.Your Next Bet
