Albany Stakes betting tips from Horsebetting.com experts for Royal Ascot 2018 say Fairyland is worth backing for the 6f Group 3 juvenile fillies’ contest on Friday, 22 June. Aidan O’Brien stablemate Just Wonderful also commands respect, while Main Edition also looks a solid bet to make the frame. Connections were successful in this race two years ago and in Fairyland they have an unbeaten filly who made the step up to Listed company look easy last time out. After comfortably winning her debut at Naas, Fairyland took the rise in grade in her stride when chasing the leaders to be definitely ahead 1 1/2 furlongs from home.
All Seamie Heffernan had to do then was ride her out for an easy 2 1/4 lengths victory over odds-on favourite Van Beethoven, with another O’Brien inmate Land Force a neck behind in third. It says a lot about Fairyland that she’s turned over the market principal on both her starts. With Heffernan again in the plate, as he was when steering Brave Anna to glory in 2016, another big run should be expected. Fairyland is thus taken to land the hat-trick as our recommended punt among 2018 Albany Stakes betting tips.Double-handed O’Brien is Just WonderfulTop Ballydoyle jockey Ryan Moore has elected to ride Just Wonderful, so she is the obvious danger to Fairyland. Although keeping on strongly to land her debut in a maiden at The Curragh by a neck, the daughter of Dansili has had just that one career outing under her belt.
Signs of greenness were there when Just Wonderful drifted right under pressure. If doing so again, she is likely to be punished by her stablemate or another filly in the field that has already learned to run straight. Given her connections, Just Wonderful is entitled to respect but this is a big step up from maiden company. The yard’s previous race winner had the benefit of two runs before coming to Royal Ascot, so that’s why we’ve sided with the more experienced Fairyland.Main Edition can make frame for Johnston Middleham trainer Mark Johnston also saddles two in this year’s Albany, and of his duo it’s Main Edition looks like she can be involved in the finish as she’s seeking a hat-trick too. Following a comfortable victory on debut at Windsor in May, connections turned her out 12 days later at the start of the month at Goodwood when Main Edition made light a penalty to win again.
Travelling well most of the way in the hands of James Doyle, she tracked the leader and challenged three out to lead before the two marker and kept on well for a cosy 3 1/4 lengths success. It was taking display and, although pitched into much higher company now, it is the nature of Main Edition’s unextended triumphs that marks her out as a danger.
She already looks versatile as regards ground having won on good-to-firm and soft going in her those previous starts. With underfoot conditions holding no fears, Main Edition is a very solid each-way bet to at least make the frame behind the lauded Irish duo from Ballydoyle.Your Next Bet
