The Curragh has three Group 3 races on Irish Cambridgeshire day; Saturday, 1 September. Among those are the Round Tower Stakes over 6f for juveniles in which Ten Sovereigns rates Horsebetting.com experts’ NAP of the meeting. In the Flame Of Tara Stakes, meanwhile, Bandiuc Eile looks worth a wager to win at the fourth time of asking for Jim Bolger now stepped back up to 1m. And in the Snow Fairy Stakes over 1m 1f, I’m So Fancy is solid each-way value against some improving youngsters. Our Curragh tips for September 1 has more on all these horses’ chances.Ten Sovereigns set to follow-up in Round Tower testTen Sovereigns created a huge impression when winning handsomely on debut, so holds leading claims of making it three wins in a row for trainer Aidan O’Brien in the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes over 6f at The Curragh on Saturday (15:25).
The son of No Nay Never bolted up by seven lengths over course and distance in a two-year-old maiden just seven days ago. Ten Sovereigns took up the running when going best before the final furlong, but stayed on strongly to have his 24 rivals strung out like washing.
It was visually very taking and suggested there was plenty more to come from him. Connections clearly have no problem in turning him out again so soon, so Ten Sovereigns can take this step up into group company in his stride en route to potentially bigger and better things.
Bookmakers were clearly taken with his debut performance as it earned him a best-price 25/1 quote for next year’s 2000 Guineas. It’s Ten Sovereigns that thus rates the best bet on the card among our Curragh betting tips for September 1.Bandiuc Eile can light up Flame Of Tara for BolgerVeteran handler Jim Bolger has an improving filly to keep onside in the other juvenile Group 3 earlier on the card, the 1m Flame Of Tara Stakes (13:40), in Bandiuc Eile, so she looks worth a wager to come good on her fourth career start now stepped back up in trip.
This daughter of New Approach, who the trainer famously saddled to Epsom Derby and Irish Champion Stakes glory in 2008, reversed the form of her 4 1/2 lengths defeat to Zagitova on her only previous outing over the trip when last in action. Although beaten 2 1/4 lengths by Skitter Scatter in a 7f Group 2 at this venue, Bandiuc Eile outran her massive odds of 50/1 and best that O’Brien trained filly by half-a-length.
She also turned the form around with her conqueror on debut, Peach Tree, who re-opposes here. That one had Bandiuc Eile beaten 6 1/2 lengths, but then finished almost 7 lengths behind when they met again and that is clear evidence the selection is the improver.
With the prospect of even more progress to come, she has the most likeable profile of the nine runners in the Flame Of Tara. Bandiuc Eile thus rates our next best behind Ten Sovereigns among the Curragh betting tips for September 1 on offer here.I’m So Fancy each-way value for Snow Fairy successThe most competitive of the group action here is the Snow Fairy Stakes over 1m 1f (14:50) and, while three-year-old duo Desert Diamond and Mary Tudor duke it out for favouritism, I’m So Fancy looks each-way value to make the frame for Jessica Harrington.
This four-year-old has two Listed wins and a second at Group 2 level – the grade above this – in four Curragh starts this season. That terrific course form is a massive plus despite the weight-for-age I’m So Fancy must give to the youngsters.
She is 3lb better off with top-weight Turret Rocks, who beat her by three lengths in a Listed contest at Gowran Park over roughly the trip on her second start of the campaign. That looks like being enough for I’m So Fancy, who came out won twice following that, to turn the tables.
Her runner-up performance over course and distance on that penultimate start saw connections go for Group 1 glory in France. I’m So Fancy was far from disgraced when beaten 2 1/2 lengths into fifth at Deauville and this represents a considerable ease in grade on her last two assignments.
As she’s maintaining her improvement, and it’s hard to choose between the progressive pair at the head of the betting, I’m So Fancy is a solid each-way proposition for punters, so features among our Curragh betting tips for September 1 instead.Your Next Bet
